The e-BAS system for measuring vessel speed and angle upon port arrival has been developed by Eyesea Technology Joint Stock Company to meet the growing demand for improved service quality in Vietnam’s port system.
The e-BAS system is a specialized technological solution we offer to monitor and manage the process of vessels entering the port. It utilizes advanced technologies such as high-precision laser distance measuring devices, warning light systems, and monitoring interfaces compatible with computers, tablets, or smartphones, allowing direct data transmission to the command center.
The e-BAS system is designed to be portable and lightweight, with two lasers connected to the Monitoring Control Unit (MCU) via Ethernet cables or optional 4G wifi communication for data transmission to the command center. It enables direct monitoring of port arrivals as well as the history of arrivals through smartphones, and allows for camera connectivity to view live images at the port.
The e-BAS system can also be fixed to integrate with other monitoring systems (optional).
Eyesea believes that with the launch of the e-BAS product, the company will always accompany the development of Vietnam’s port system.
Overview of the e-BAS System
The e-BAS system includes the following main components:
- Two laser distance, angle, and speed sensors for measuring vessel arrivals.
- The e-BAS MCU monitoring control system (designed to compactly fit inside a specialized suitcase) contains system control components such as the display controller for warning lights, wifi transceiver, internet connectivity for data transmission to the command center, control software, and settings for alerts and data display.
- Specialized connection accessories: batteries, tripod stands, antennas.

Display Functions of the e-BAS System:
- – Displaying a 3D model of the vessel’s arrival process, combined with live video from the port.
- – Showing vessel arrival information (vessel name, registration number, dimensions, IMO, etc.).
- – Presenting parameters during vessel arrival, such as arrival speed, angle, and distance from the vessel to the fenders.
- – Integrating with hydrological measuring stations to display hydrological parameters during vessel arrival, such as wind speed, wind direction, port current speed, and current direction.
- – Alerts when parameters during vessel arrival exceed set thresholds that could affect the safety of the vessel docking.
Key Functions of the e-BAS Software:
- – The system control software displays and distributes data to support vessel arrivals using a web-based platform, making it easy to use across various platforms (Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc.).
- Monitoring the processes of vessel arrivals and departures.
- – Recording arrival parameters such as arrival speed, angle, and distance. All data records are retained long-term on the device, supporting data export in Excel format.
- – Playback of historical vessel arrival sessions, simulating the entire arrival process, with functionalities for fast forward, rewind, and pause.
- – Hazard alerts are communicated through signals on the control screen and audible alarms.
- – Data security is ensured and accessed via account credentials, with permissions based on functional access levels.
- – The system can be connected to the data center of relevant state management authorities.
- – The e-BAS API subsystem provides customization capabilities through a RESTful API protocol to facilitate integration with other systems, ensuring security. Functions include APIs for obtaining tokens, changing passwords, initiating and ending measurements, and altering system parameters such as distance from the measuring device to the fender or the distance between two measuring devices.

Currently, the solution for the vessel speed and angle measurement support system has been deployed by Eyesea for various units. With the ability to design solutions based on the actual needs of each customer, our company hopes to provide our valued customers with effective products and the best quality service.
